Maison Dieu Guest House is located just 10 minutes’ drive from Dover Cruise Terminals  so if you are planning a cruise from Dover UK, a stay here at Maison Dieu Guest House Dover is very convenient. Our check-in is 4.30pm to 9.30 pm but we also offer an early Luggage drop between 11am – 1pm  (strictly by arrangement) which means that our guests can drop off luggage and then use the rest of the day to visit local attractions – crucial to be free of luggage on a short stopover in Dover!  We happily provide a brief orientation of Dover and information on what to do and where to go – also maps and advice on where to eat in Dover, we have many excellent restaurants all within 5 – 10 minutes walk. We also have ground floor storage for excess luggage not required overnight – we strongly recommend use of an overnight bag to avoid disturbing carefully packed cruise luggage – even if it is packed within larger cases or trunks for the journey.   Our location which is just 5 minutes walk from local shops and restaurants, means that everywhere is accessible – the beautiful Dover harbour  (and Marina Pier) are just a 10 minute level walk from our Dover B&B – and shops, restaurants and launderette are just 5 minutes walk.

 

For a smooth and hassle free airport transfer to Dover, we highly recommend Horizon Private Hire or Coastal Cars Your driver will collect you from the airport, assist with luggage and transfer you to our door, it’s simply ideal for those on long haul flights! For those travelling by train into Dover Priory rail station, Maison Dieu Guest House is located just a 10 minute level walk or short taxi ride from the station.The National Express Dover town centre bus stop is literally 5 minutes’ walk from our Bed and Breakfast Dover, in fact it actually passes the house 2 minutes before the stop, therefore no need for a taxi! On the day of departure for your cruise we again offer storage for luggage until 1pm – we ask you to check-out by 10 am, this allows time perhaps for a visit to fabulous Dover Castle known as ‘The Key to England’- this enormous castle stands overlooking the town and the English Channel – it opens at 10am (9.30am August) but a minimum of 4 hours would really be required to do justice to entry fee (approx. £19). A visit to the world famous White Cliffs of Dover is also a great way to spend a few hours – offering fabulous views over the English Channel to France and of your ship at the Dover Cruise Terminal.

We request that you return to the B&B Dover sometime before 1pm to collect luggage whereupon we call a local taxi for your 10 minute transfer to Dover Cruise Terminal (approx. £9).
